Apparently Grimlock thinks one of two things.
1) He REALLY doesn't like the sound
Or
2) He's just trying to sing-slong with the sound.
Either way, Obi doesn't seem too bothered by the sound. By the way, it's a little snake-charm flute t
Toy that I picked while in India for the kids
The kids and their cousin wqlk down the block collecting leaves from neighbors' yards.
Ahh, it's the little things in life... Don't you wish YOU had as much fun picking up leaves!!??
Christina & Kierra get a treat of mani/pedis after we went swimming and had lunch with Kaleb at his school.
After this, we're getting some frozen yogurt at the new Yogurtville store in Plano (>10 self-serv flavors + choices of any mixins you want!). Then we'll get some groceries and pick up the kids from school. Busy day off!
Just a typical shot of a neighborhoos street in New Delhi.
There are a LOT of people, motocycles, and a good amount of bikes... Oh, and a hell of a lot of people always walking around.
Apparently, northern India is very male-dominated. On the streets, it seems like about 90% of the people on the streets are men. It almost seems like "where are all the women!?"
This is the start of the ADHM 7k run in New Delhi.
The guy with the mic is Shah Khan, who is the biggest movie star in Bollywood/India. He apparently makes like $12 million USD per movie, and makes a bunch of them each year.
He was telling the crowd to "GO! Run! I'll be here when you get back. You need to get going, you're blocking the start! Come on, GO!"
But everyone just wanted to stand around and take pictures of him and the other stars on the stage. There were other stages along the route with other big Bollywood stars dancing with music.
The dogs just wander between people and around town scrounging for food.
The second photo shows a fruit-stand on the side of the road, as well as the front part of a tuk-tuk scooter.
The last photo shows a tuk-tuk with 8 people in it! We were trying to figure out who actually was the driver. I think it's the second from their right (our left).
Here are some videos of New Delhi so far.
The second video from New Delhi: on our way to the office we notice this corner where there are a bunch of cows that congregate to rummage through trash for food.
The cows are holy in Hinduism. So we're guessing that people drop scraps of food at this corner for the cows. From what I've heard, the cows are sacred so no one dares to touch them. The cows can go wherever they please. As as result, the cows sometimes gather together where there is food. Sometimes a bunch of them will lay down in the middle of a highway and cause huge traffic jams.
In this video, it's a relatively uncrowded street. But as you can see, the cows are standing in the middle of the intersection and even start to run towards the car at the end.
The third video shows part of the drive to work on some streets through a smallish part of town. Part of the way is on the highway, but that's relatively boring. The side streets are more interesting, showing "tuk-tuk" 3-wheeled scooter carts, cows, bicycles, street vendors, and LOTS of people.
We were walking to dinner and walked by a street-side market. It was several blocks long and had all kinds of things.
You can see they have some dresses. But they also have various jewelry, necklaces, rings, shoes, statues, shawls, etc...
I didn't buy anything, but will probably buy some later.
You can see two of the ladies I work with Pennee from Thailand (on the left) and Minema from Inda (on the right).
I always HEARD about cows roaming freely in the streets, but I didn't really know the extent... but it's TRUE.
They seem to congregate in less-congested roads (for their own safety).
But they said the reason is because they're sacred to Hindus (who are the majority in India). Since they are, they let them roam freely wherever they want.
This picture is from driving on the way to the office. This is from street where there a bunch of cows congregating to root through the trash on the side of the street.
