This short blog/article post is still funny/yet interesting at the same time...
It's primarily a sarcastic poke at a stereotypical white person... but it's also poking a little fun at all of us.

Are you tired of sitting next to people in traffic where their car is constantly spewing blue or black smoke?
You can report these cars, so that the state will investigate and ask them to fix the problem promptly. It will help save our air and prevent unnecessary air pollution. Here's how.
When should you report a vehicle?
- Is a vehicle with a Texas license plate (there are different instructions for other states)
- If there is visible smoke emitted for more than 10 seconds (this applies to diesel vehicles as well)
What you will need to report a vehicle:
- Texas license plate number
- Date observed
- Time (AM/PM)
- City
- Location observed
UPDATE: Here a website where you can report a vehicle. Bookmark it, or access it from your cellphone.
Hi all,
Well, this is our new car. We're still on the first tank, so I'm not sure what the overall-MPG will be, but it will likely be around 42-44mpg... but I got 55 mpg on my commute from home to work this morning (15 mile distance)!
We were 'planning' to wait a while before getting one (since selling the Acura in June). But, due to a few things we decided to get one:
- We got the Civic Hybrid for invoice price (which is about $1500 less than the average price most people are paying, according to Edmunds.com
- We should get a $2000 tax-credit at the end of the year, since it's a hybrid with federal tax-credit
- There were sales going on for this 2007-model, when the 2008 models are coming soon (since they would be less likely to deal as much on 2008 models)
- The tax-credit is limited to the first 60,000 vehicles, then it drops by 50% each quarter until there is 0% tax-credit
- Plus, we decided to try to use it as our 'primary' around-town and short road-trip car (<5 hour distance) instead of the van (which will save gas money and emissions). But then we'll use the van for LONG road-trips, or if there are too many people we're taking to fit in 1 car.
Interesting, relatively-short article that explains the difference between how much energy it take to MAKE a new coke-can vs. recycling an existing one.

One of the interesting statistics, was that 50 BILLION cans were thrown-away between in 2001 (in 1 year), and that could have saved enough energy to power 2.7 million homes for a year..... amazing...
